What drives the price

Why it matters
Gas appliances fail toward carbon monoxide. A blocked or disconnected vent, a cracked heat exchanger or a badly adjusted burner can spill combustion products into the room, and CO has no smell. This is not a category to keep nursing along.

My pilot keeps going out. What is that usually?
Most often a failing thermocouple or thermopile — it stops generating enough millivolts to hold the safety valve open. It is a common and inexpensive repair. Occasionally it is a draft problem instead, which is why we measure rather than just swap the part.
Do you work on vent-free units?
Yes. They need particular attention to the oxygen depletion sensor, and we will tell you honestly if the unit is one that should be replaced rather than repaired.
I smell gas. What should I do?
Do not switch anything on or off. Leave the house and call Spire from outside. Once the gas company has made it safe, we will handle the appliance repair.
